One of our most frequently asked Loveland heating repair questions is:
Can my furnace be fixed?
Yes, your Loveland furnace can be repaired if it's something minor. Our trained technicians take the time to explain to you in detail what the problem is and how best to fix or replace your heating system. You might be able to correct any problem you might be having by taking advantage of our tune and clean special currently offered by our certified specialists.
Parts do wear out and can be replaced but you should consider the age of your furnace or air conditioner, the amount of time you plan to live in your home and the cost of your utility bills.
If you have no plans to move in the immediate future, replacing your heating system might be the best decision.
If you plan on moving soon, be aware that a buyer's house inspection could reveal the need to have it replaced and you might have to buy one regardless.
Although repairing may be the most affordable solution now, it might not be the best choice over the long run.
Factors to consider include:
When the cost of a Loveland heating repair approaches 50% of the value of your heating or cooling system, it's generally time to replace the system.
Even if needed repair costs aren't quite as daunting as 50%, you might want to replace your system if it's more than 12 years old or you've had a history of problems with it. Also, it might be worthwhile to take advantage of the following:
Convenience - When you purchase a new system, you can avoid the hassle of an unexpected Loveland heating repair down the line, and you don't have to sit around being uncomfortable while waiting for parts. If you own rental property, this lets you avoid late night calls when your renter has heating or cooling problems.
Lower utility bills - A high-efficiency home comfort system can save you hundreds of dollars each year in energy costs, compared to an older system.
Heating and cooling can account for more than half of your home's total utility bill. So when looking for ways to cut your energy costs, be sure to think about a high-efficiency system.
How do you know if a heating or cooling system is efficient? Take a look at the yellow-and-black Energy Guide label, which displays efficiency ratings for the product.
Heating Efficiency Furnaces are rated by the Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) ratio, which is the percent of heat produced for every dollar of fuel consumed. AFUE works a lot like the miles-per-gallon rating on your car-the higher the rating, the lower your fuel costs.
Cooling Efficiency The measure for the efficiency of air conditioners and heat pumps is the Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER), which compares cooling output to electrical consumption over a range of temperatures. The higher the SEER, the less the unit will cost to operate.

Energy tax credits - You can recover up to 30% of cost up to $1,500 (Expires December 31, 2010.) Must be an existing home & your principal residence. New construction and rentals do not qualify for the cost of select high-efficiency systems in the form of tax credits.
Friendlier refrigerant - Due to growing environmental concerns, the U.S. federal government has mandated that all HVAC manufacturers phase R-22 refrigerant-based equipment out of production. In response, most HVAC companies now only install the newer cooling systems with R-410A, a U.S. EPA-approved, chlorine-free refrigerant. You should ask when buying a new air conditioning system if it is designed to use R-410A refrigerant, therefore providing an economic benefit in addition to the environmental benefit. R-410A systems are also known for improved reliability, quieter operation, improved dehumidification and enhanced heat pump performance.
Enhanced comfort - Advanced technologies that improve energy efficiency also enhance your comfort, so you can enjoy more even temperatures, better humidity control and a constant flow of conditioned air.
Improved air quality - Better humidity control means a reduced potential for mold and mildew growth. The new air conditioning systems are also available with advanced filtration features which minimizes the impact of indoor pollutants.
